1 Even through the ages, when you have grown old and your eyesight begins to fail you, you will be summoned by those close to you. 2 You will indicate your presence by saying, “I am here.” 3 You tell them that you do not know when you will die, as you have always not known. 4 You will usher people close to you and call out saying, “Go out into the world, and live with immediacy - hunt, eat, prosper- but also remember that I am here waiting for you and I am not as strong as I once was.”

5 They or others that were not directly spoken to may listen to your cries and take your words to heart. 6 They may hunt, as you say, eat, as you say, and prosper, as you say, and they will be in debted to you and obedient to you. 7 They will however be somewhat crippled in learning by your direction. Their conscious brain will struggle to be able to learn for itself. 8 Even so, they are blessed in their crippled freedom. 9 They will find short cuts when it comes to pass that what you ask of them is not their true desire. Watch for short cuts that reflect indifference, efficiency, and other truths. 10 Still, in their devotion to you, they will bring you what you desire and both of you will be blessed irrespective of the outcome. 11 In this way, you will also be shackled by your dependence on others’ giving to you. 12 Your body cannot lie to you however, and neither can theirs.

12 “See, the scent of the Sun
is like the scent of the fields
and that of moving time
and its change.

May you give and be given
showers from the sky
sweat from the earth
and fruit from all seeds.

13 May this life pass before you
and may none bow before another
but if one must bow
learn instead of begrudge
but if one must begrudge
also learn.
